The heart of the Skitunäs cottage is the atmospheric wood-fired sauna, where the gentle heat relaxes both mind and body. Adjacent to the sauna is a washroom and a small dressing room with direct access to the terrace. From the terrace, you can take a dip in the refreshing sea water or cool off on the glassed-in terrace.
In the cottage’s living room, a magnificent fireplace built from natural soapstone creates warmth and ambiance. The fireplace is an open hearth, but the open flame radiates warmth and atmosphere, making evenings especially cozy.
Loft and pool table for recreational games
The cottage’s upper loft offers plenty of space for relaxing and sleeping. The loft provides children and teenagers with their own peaceful space, but it also works perfectly as a relaxed hangout for the whole family. The loft also features a pool table, which invites playful competition and shared game nights. Whether it’s a family tournament or a match among friends, pool adds a fun activity to your cottage weekend, regardless of the weather.
The tranquility of sea side sauna and the ambiance of barbecue hut
In the yard of the Skitunäs cottage, there is an atmospheric barbecue hut that offers the perfect setting for an evening get-together all year round. The hut features benches with sheepskin rugs and a fireplace where you can grill over an open fire regardless of the weather. It’s nice to spend time with family and friends by the warm glow of the fire, even if it’s windy outside.
On the seaside cliff, right by the water’s edge, there is a large seaside sauna that can accommodate up to 10 people. The wood-fired stove ensures a gentle steam, and you can cool off right by the sea. The sauna terrace offers a beautiful view of the sea—the perfect place to enjoy the summer evening sun or the quiet of winter.
🌿 Outdoor areas and activities
The Skitunäs rental cottage is located in a peaceful spot in a pine forest, right by the sea. The cottage is surrounded by a natural lawn with plenty of space for relaxing, barbecuing, and unwinding while enjoying the sea view. The beach features a dock, swimming steps, and a gently sloping rocky shore that is perfect for swimming. Next to the dock, the shoreline is rocky and stony, but it slopes evenly and is therefore safe for families with children under adult supervision.
Terraces on different sides of the cottage
Campfire site and barbecue hut. Inside the hut, sheepskin rugs provide warmth on cool autumn and winter evenings. Suitable for campfires year-round.
Boating and fishing: A rowboat is included in the rent, and a boat ramp on the beach makes it easy to get out on the water. Due to the tides, it is always advisable to pull the boat out of the water after use, and there is also a buoy available on the shore.
About 800 meters from the Skitunäs cottage is an idyllic sandy beach (approx. 30 meters wide)

🐾 Bringing pets to cottage
You can usually bring pets to the Skitunäs cottage if you wish. A pet fee of €10/day per pet applies. Please always let us know about your pet when making a reservation so we can inform guests with allergies when cats or dogs were last at the cottage. Cabin for year-round use
The Skitunäs seaside cottage is an insulated, warm log cabin suitable for vacations and stays even during the winter. The sea often remains ice-free until January, but the swimming ladder is removed from use at the end of November due to the risk of freezing. If you wish, you can cut a hole in the ice at the end of the dock.
The lakeside sauna is also available for rent in the winter. The floor stays cold, but the insulated sauna provides a steamy, soothing experience even in the harshest frosts.
