Rantakari Seaside Sauna

At Rantakari, you will find both a wood-heated sauna and a fireplace. At the end of the day, it’s wonderfully relaxing to warm up in the gentle steam of the sauna and then move by the fireplace to enjoy an evening tea or a glass of wine. The sauna is equipped with shower facilities, and from the terrace you have direct access to the sea via the pier. The private pier is perfect for soaking up the sun, swimming, or simply relaxing by the sea. Swimming ladders are typically available from spring to late autumn. In winter, you may create an ice hole for swimming if you wish.

Accommodation and amenities

The Rantakari cottage is a one-and-a-half-story wooden cottage. The ground floor features a double bedroom, a kitchenette, a living room, a toilet, a shower, and a sauna. The loft has a double bed and four 80 cm box-spring beds (access to the loft is via steep stairs, not suitable for people with limited mobility). All beds come with blankets and pillows; linens are available for rent.

Upon arrival, you can bring your own bed linens and towels or easily reserve them through us. Upon departure, the property must be cleaned either by yourself or by booking through us.

Rantakari is a winter-warm and well-equipped rental cottage where you can feel comfortable all year round. The insulated cottage stays warm thanks to electric radiators, a heat-storing fireplace, and an air-source heat pump.

Rantakari’s glass terrace is the crowning touch to your vacation experience. It is a warm and bright space where you can admire the sea view every day of the year. The large dining table seats eight people, making the space perfect for shared meals, celebrations, or quiet evenings with family and friends. The panoramic windows offer a magnificent view directly out to the sea, and the glass terrace perfectly combines nature, light, and comfort.

Outdoor Areas and Activities

Private beach and dock

The Rantakari cottage is located right on the seashore, and the yard offers a magnificent view of the sea. On the private dock, you can enjoy the sun, go swimming, or simply relax by the sea. The swimming ladder is typically available from spring through late fall.

The outdoor terrace has a table and seating for sunbathing and barbecuing on summer days.

Rowing boat and fishing opportunities

The cottage rental includes a rowing boat, which you can use for peaceful trips on nearby waters or to try your luck at fishing. The waters are rich in fish, and it’s easy to set out from the shore for a day trip or an evening stroll on the water.

Gas grill

The lakeside terrace features a gas grill, perfect for cooking outdoors and enjoying cozy evenings by the water.

Nature and local attractions

The area around Rantakari offers a wide range of opportunities for outdoor activities and excursions. The Kotka archipelago, Sapokka Water Park, Vellamo Maritime Center, and Maretarium are all easily accessible.

Pets welcome

You may bring a pet to Rantakari by notifying us at the time of booking (additional fee of €10/day). Please note that the cottage does not have a yard, so pets cannot be let off-leash. When staying with a pet, you are responsible for keeping the cottage clean—especially the sofas and bedding.
